About Manufactured Homes:
Across the country, inspections of Manufactured Homes (formerly known as Mobile Homes) are gaining popularity. Construction quality and features have improved substantially over the years, and homeowners are now paying top dollar for resale's of existing manufactured homes. Single-section and multi-section homes come in a variety of sizes - with prices to match.
In general, single-section homes are less expensive than double-section homes, which are less expensive than triple-section homes. The average single-section home has about 1,100 square feet of living space and costs about $30,700. The average double-section home has about 1,700 square feet of living space and costs about $55,100. Most manufactured homes on permanent foundations are treated as real estate property.
Home inspectors typically base their prices on the manufactured home's square footage just as they would with other residential property. Home inspectors who advertise an expertise in inspecting manufactured/mobile homes will generally receive more business than those inspectors who don't.
